Can Far Infrared Therapy Improve The Symptoms Of
Fibromyalgia?
Monday November 15 2010
A new study has found that far infrared therapy, a gentle,non-pharmeceutical treatment may
help reduce the spectrum of physical problems associated with fibromyalgia.  The
researchers found
far infrared therapy treatments helped ease the symptoms associated
with
fibromyalgia, such as pain, fatigue,  morning tiredness & stiffness by improving physical
functioning and overall well-being.  Though the study was small, the results are seen to be
significant. Participants were able to reduce their reliance on their pain medications. The
study is still continuing & more detailed results will be released when completed

Ceramic Nanoparticles Used In The Fight Against Cancer
Wednesday 17th March 2010
Pioneering Australian scientists are working on medical techniques using nanotechnology to
help treat breast cancer. Professor Michael Cortie, director of the Institute for Nano Scale
Technology at the University of Technology Sydney, says the breakthrough technology has the
potential to destroy cancer tumours without damaging surrounding cells.

At Queensland's Institute for Bioengineering & Nanotechnology the use of ceramic
nanoparticles is helping to detect early stage breast cancer to help save lives

Magnetic Stimulation As Therapy
Monday 8th March 2010
Unlocking Safe Treatments For Chronic Pain and More.....  Static magnets, the kind you can
use to attach a photo to your refrigerator, have been used for centuries as a safe, effective
natural therapy for a wide variety of health problems, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid
arthritis & gout pain relief.
But now, according to a recent study by the Mayo Clinic in the US, an exciting new era of
magnetic therapy is under way. The therapy, called
transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS),
involves using brief powerful electromagnetic pulses to alter brain activity.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has already approved
TMS therapy for those who
have depression that isn't responding to drug therapy. In addition, researchers are studying
new uses of magnetic therapy, such as controlling acute and chronic pain, reducing ringing
in the ears and stopping or preventing migraines.

Natural Remedies For Beneficial Health Results
2 November  2009
The Australian Federal Government is trialling complimentary medicines to reduce hospital
stay & improve the quality of life for patients. Health Minister, Nicola Roxon is funding the
research.

Two-thirds of Australians use complimentary medicines to stop pain, ease joint stiffness &
swelling as well as improve over-all health to reduce their dependence upon costly
medicines & invasive surgery. Far infrared therapy garments offer real health benefits for
those who suffer with
arthritis pain, carpal tunnel, rheumatism & other degenerative joint
diseases.

Treat Diabetes Early
14 April 2009
New scientific research shows half of all
type 2 diabetes patients require early, aggressive
medical treatment and insulin injections to help prevent severe eye, nerve and kidney
problems.

The Australian study of 3900 patients from 500 medical practices throughout Australia found
25% of diabetics had very high blood sugar levels despite the introduction of new, advanced
drugs and insulin to help manage the disease. A healthy eating plan with physical exercise is
usually not enough to control blood sugar levels so drug therapy should be introduced much
earlier, said University of Melbourne medical researcher, Associate Professor Richard
MacIsaac. He states, “Evidence shows intensive glucose control delays the onset and
progression of diabetes-related complications and gives patients a better quality of life.”  One
doctor admits, however, that most general practitioners find it easier to prescribe medicines,
just as it's easier for a patient to take a tablet than to improve their lifestyle.

Sadly, left untreated, diabetes can result in blood glucose levels becoming progressively
worse, raising the risk of eye damage which can lead to blindness, kidney disease,
neuropathy or nerve damage. The good news is that there are also some natural therapies
available to type 2 diabetes sufferers to help ease their symptoms of diabetes which offer a
less aggressive treatment.

Many people believe alternative medicines can help
diabetes patients live a more active life
style without interfering with their prescribed medications. Remember, it is also vital to follow
the advice of your trusted health care professional to ensure your continued good health and
well-being.

Dental Care & Diabetes Type 2
12, January 2009
A recent report states "treating gum disease in patients who have diabetes with procedures
such as flossing, cleaning and periodontal scaling means lower medical & dental costs."
These results are good news, said Prof Taylor of University of Michigan. The research project
investigated whether undergoing routine, non-pharmaceutical treatments for gum disease is
linked to reduced medical expenses for people with
type 2 diabetes.

Caring for Chronic Diseases
7 January 2009
A review in the January/February 2009 issue of Health Affairs, reports that "....
U.S. health care is set up for quick fixes to acute problems." Author Katie Coleman, from
Group Health Center for Health Studies says "this can be expensive, ineffective, and
inefficient." The high cost and the fragmented U.S. healthcare system are just two reasons
why people suffering from chronic conditions, such as
degenerative joint disease, seek
gentle, natural pain relief with complimentary medicines.

Australians Lead the World in Biological Medicine.
12 August 2008
Australian scientists have made an important breakthrough which could help prevent
diseases such as leukaemia,
rheumatoid arthritis and asthma.

Scientists know cells get the information to replicate from signals from the body, however,
new 3D imaging has allowed researchers to see how this works. Researcher, Professor
Michael Parker from the St Vincent's Institute states they can now work on developing a cure.

Parker says, "If we can stop those strings forming, then there's no signal. And if there's no
signal, then the cells will stop proliferating."

It is hoped this discovery will lead to targeted treatments and cures, such as a
cure for
rheumatoid arthritis.

Osteoarthritis Is Affecting More Australians
4 August 2008
Professor Lyn March reveals that osteoarthritis is affecting more Australians. Generally
affecting those over the age of 45 to 50 you can slow the process to ease painful

exercise to improve balance and maintain peak bone mass for stronger bone and muscle is
highly recommended to avoid osteoarthritis.

Osteoarthritis Risk Factors:
~ Low bone density
~ Family History of osteoarthritis
~ Being female
~ Physical disability
~ Inadequate diet
~ Previous bone fractures

Approved by doctors, Thermomedic Therapy Garments provide sufferers of
osteoarthritis

Do You Want To Suffer Less Arthritis Pain?
11 June 2008
Pain is the most universally reported symptom in arthritis and other degenerative diseases.
How one person reacts to pain may also be very different from the way another person
reacts. It is hard to define pain because it can be acute, or short term or chronic, long term.
This can affect the sufferer physically and emotionally.
Arthritis often has an unpredictable
pattern with pain being worse on some occasions while at other times it seems a little better.

Chronic pain can be exhausting making you feel down and unmotivated. Therefore, the
successful management of pain in arthritis needs to be tailored to your needs. The good
news is that a great deal can be done to mange your pain with safe, natural therapies. The
R&D team at Thermomedic strive to ensure you receive the very best in
far infrared therapy
products.

Nano-technology To Treat Cancer Tumors
23 May 2008
Researchers from the MIT Research Centre in The States are using nano- technology to
target cancer tumors with great results. Medical studies show these advanced treatments
are proving to be less invasive than traditional cancer treatments, offering hope of improved
quality of life choices. This should not be confused with genetic engineering or agricultural
modification.

Advancements In Australian Nano-technology
27 March 2008
Australian nanotechnology research and development is set to benefit from a new joint
collaboration between the Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Research Facility at the
University of Sydney and Australian National Fabrication Facility in Melbourne.

Nanotechnology will underpin advances right across health care. This will have improved
application in medical treatments for cancer,
rheumatoid arthritis and other degenerative
diseases which have in the past required invasive surgical intervention and medications
causing unpleasant side effects. These medical advances now offer better choices for those
people suffering debilitating
pain and serious health complaints for whom previously there
were few treatment options.

What is Nanotechnology?
Nanotechnology is engineering at the molecular level to create new, safe materials. Through
careful medical research these materials offer safe, beneficial treatments for health
complaints which previously required invasive procedures leading to longer rehabilitation
periods.

Thermomedic Therapy Garments source our materials from leading manufacturers whose
commitment to research and development ensures our customers always receive the very

Did You Know Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus are the
Most Common types of Inflammatory Arthritis?
Monday Dec 13 2010
Further, people with some types of arthritis, called inflammatory arthritis or systemic arthritis
or autoimmune rheumatic disease, can have a much higher risk of getting an infection or
other serious health conditions. For many arthritis sufferers the stiff, sore joint pain, poor
general health or weakened immune system makes them more susceptible to illness such
as the flu. Medical research shows they often have more severe disease and complications
leading to hospitalization than the general population. Natural therapies, such as
far infrared
treatment offers safe, gentle, soothing pain relief for rheumatoid arthritis and lupus which
can help reduce the need for strong medications. The
best arthritis treatment for arthritic joint
pain uses non-invasive thermal therapy to naturally increase circulation and improve joint
mobility for better function and life-style.

Hip Fractures & Complimentary Therapies
Tuesday September 27 2011
Hip fractures are a serious health problem leading to disability, reduced quality of life, loss of
independence and even premature death. Every day in 2007 more than 40 Australians, many
aged 65 or over, broke their hip. Osteoporosis and osteoporotic fractures can be prevented
through lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of falls.

While there is no cure for osteoporosis there are some easy, effective ways to help manage
your osteoporosis symptoms as well as improve your general health and quality of life.
Thermomedic Therapy hip supports can help improve circulation for better joint mobility and
reduced pain. The compressive hip supports are an ideal choice to retain the correct
position of surgical dressings, too.

Health-care research into
osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis  suggests
that females are more likely to take positive action to manage their condition and have a
lower rate of joint replacement than males. Further, research suggests that complimentary
medicines, such as far infrared therapy garments, may slow the progression of these
conditions for improved health care outcomes.

Women who break a hip in their late 60s are five times more likely to die within a year than
those who remain injury free, research shows. The outlook for older women with hip
fractures is also grim, with those in their 70s having double the chance of dying within 12
months, while for those in their 80s almost triple.

Researchers found the increased chance of dying from a hip fracture were independent of
any underlying health conditions. Clinical studies also found women with broken hips faced
an increased risk of dying early when complicated by existing health problems, such as
degenerative joint disease or diabetes. Even women who enjoyed excellent health before
breaking their hip were often unable to recover because hip fractures can be so devastating.
Research findings based on a 20 year study suggest that it is the hip fracture and not poor
health that puts these women at increased risk of dying. Further, women are at the highest
risk of dying within the first three months after hip fracture, possibly due to the trauma of
hospitalisation, surgery and immobility. Hip fractures in the elderly often occur after a fall or
following slipping, tripping or stumbling which frequently require surgery. It is not surprising
that women and men with fragile and brittle bones due to osteoporosis are especially at risk
of hip fractures.

Did you know in 2007 there were more than 16,500 osteoporotic hip fractures reported in
Australians aged over 40?
